Hopefully this finds the right people in Ohio. I am TSgt Rummelhoff, Devin, USAF, station at the U.S. Embassy in Muscat, Oman. I am serving a 3 year tour here. I recently had to change jurisdiction of a child support order from Nevada to my son's current state of residence of Ohio. This had to be changed due to the fact that my son's mother refuses to send my son for ordered visitation. Stating "I live in Oman and because Oman is not on the Hague Treaty that she will not be able to see her son again". Now I have done extensive research on the "Hague Treaty" and all it entails. But, me being in Oman and working for the Chief of Mission (Ambassador), who has a Regional Security Officer working for him, who has arrest authority over any and all U.S. Citizens in the country...why am I am not entitled to him to come visit? I can understand if the country is "hostile", "saturated with terrorist", but it is as safe or safer than Columbus, Ohio. Murder rate is lower, crime rate is lower, and education standards are higher!
I did get a court hearing May 25, 2010 mandating that she send him to Italy, for a 2 week vacation. But, because she knows the system all too well, he does not have a passport yet to go....so he will most likely not make it.
Michael Tuner, I guess my question is, where can I get help in Ohio? The state department website states that anyone needing help in international child abduction should contact the closed U.S. Embassy,. Don't you think that with these guidelines in place, someone would allow me to see my son the "ordered" times?

Please acknowledge receipt of this, I am running out of time.

My name is Jessica Tolbe, and I am the Soldier mentioned in paragraph 2.
I actually had served 4 combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. The final deployment which led up to me loosing custody of my children was a 15 month tour.
I cannot stress the hurt, the pain, and the suffering I and my family has endured over the last year that I have been home. It is imperative that the Turner Ammendment is passed. It may very well be too late for me, but there will be others much like myself. Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, and Airmen that all risk their lives for a country whose legal system isn't fair. I lost my children because I have supported my country. I lost my children because I wanted to keep the country they live in safe and secure. Please help others in the future and pass this ammendment.

Sincerely,
SSG Jessica Anne Tolbe
